Synopsis:
This project is twinned with the subseries for imaging working team. We are investigating the ability of the inverse series to directly invert seismic reflection data for the mechanical properties of the earth. The conceptual potential and promise to directly invert for large property changes across planar, curved and dipping, corrugated, or diffractive interfaces differentiates the objective of this project from all current amplitude analysis capability.
